How many Levels of Consciousness are there?
March 24, 2025Perhaps you have already asked yourself: *What does “all is one” mean? This statement sounds simple, but it carries a deep truth. All is one means that there is no real separation – neither between you and me nor between us and the world. It describes the idea that all life is connected, on an invisible level that we often cannot grasp with our minds.
What does “all is one” mean? The wisdom behind interconnectedness
When you realize this, your view of the world changes. Conflicts seem smaller, nature seems more alive and you feel less alone. This oneness invites you to step out of your small, isolated perspective and be part of a larger whole.
In everyday life, you can feel this connectedness when you are compassionate, be it with a stranger, an animal or the earth. Try it out: Look around you today and realize that you are not separate from what you see – you are part of it.
Why are we all one? Answers from science and spirituality
The question of *why are we all one* has many answers – from spiritual to scientific. Quantum physics shows that at the smallest level, everything is energy, without fixed boundaries. This realization coincides with spiritual wisdom, which says that we all come from the same source.
You may sometimes feel separated – from other people, from nature or from yourself. But when you look deeper, you realize: Separation is an illusion. Our heart beats to the same rhythm as the universe. Every action you take has an effect on the whole.
Imagine you are a drop in the ocean. The drop is seemingly independent, but without the ocean it could not exist. It’s exactly the same with us humans. This realization helps you to evaluate less and instead see the unity in everything. A little more in every moment?
The meaning in the Lakota language: “We are all one”
The Lakota, an indigenous people of North America, have a particularly poetic way of expressing connectedness. In their language, “we are all one” means that all life is sacred and that we are part of a great cycle.
For the Lakota, nature is not something to be owned or controlled, but a living being with which we are in relationship. This view shows us how important it is to treat everything with respect and mindfulness – not just people, but also animals, plants and even stones. In the Lakota language, the statement “We are all one” could be translated as: “Mitákuye Oyás’iŋ”
This literally means “All my relatives” or “We are all connected”. It is a central spiritual statement of the Lakota, expressing the interconnectedness of all beings in the universe – humans, animals, plants and even the earth and sky. The exact pronunciation is something like mee-DAH-koo-yeh oh-YAH-seen, and it is often used in ritual or spiritual contexts to honor this oneness.
Perhaps this perspective will inspire you to live more consciously. The Lakota teach us that every thought, word and action counts. By integrating more gratitude and respect into your everyday life, you will come closer to this wisdom and feel the unity with everything that lives.
Modern movements and initiatives: “We are all one in Congress”
Madhukar is always a guest at the Congress. The next one is a Silent Congress. This is an event that brings this philosophy to the world. People come together online to talk about unity, peace and mutual support and also to be silent. Workshops, talks and shared silence connect the participants and show that we are connected.
Such movements are important because they remind us how powerful it is when people unite for a common goal. Perhaps you have experienced this before: in a moment of togetherness, at a concert, a retreat or a demonstration, you suddenly feel that you are part of something bigger. This can be very powerful – yet oneness goes beyond this experience.
The next congress is more than just an event – it is an invitation to feel the oneness in your own life and bring it into the world. Perhaps it is time for you to become part of such a movement.
Do we all have a little bit of “I want to save the world”?
Deep down, we all have the desire to make the world a little better. We all have a little bit of “I want to save the world” in us, even if we don’t always say it out loud. This desire comes from the realization that we are connected – and that our actions matter.
You don’t have to be perfect to make a difference. It is enough to start with small steps: separating waste, consuming more consciously or simply bringing more love and compassion into your relationships. Each of these steps is an expression of oneness, because it shows that you care about the world.
What are you doing today to bring a little more light into the world? The answer doesn’t have to be big, but it will have an impact. Every handshake you do for your children or in a voluntary activity, every time you serve others is a sign that oneness, this connectedness is important to you. Because everything you do not only changes you, but also the whole.
